everybody go here and watch this and spread the link. sony must see lots of ppl watching it.. its Neil Gaiman's Mirror Mask http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/mirrormask.html w/ jim henson and the other ppl what made labrynth and the dark crystal.
yaaay. cant wait to see that, loox so awesome. ALSO:
my sadness in not seeing neil gaiman while in town is greatly expressed in this haiku:
kerchunk. i feel rather down. difficulty deciding on a college. difficulty finishing current degree. want to just say 'fuck it' and run to some foriegn country where they'll never find me. erggerlzpizzle. got a lot of things to do, sitting here thinking about it too much instead of actually doing it... think ill go take a shower n then begin tasks. best to start fresh. *splat* (for the record)
got up realy early today, about 7am. its only nearly 9 and ive got lots of things done already. i think id like to do this more often. usually my mornings consit of being nearly noon and a groggy attempt to dress and eat something - anything, before stumbling off to school, only to arrive an hour later lulled to sleep once more by the rocking of the train. today i got up early because we dont have air conditioning in the bedroom and its very, very hot (i am extremely surprised at how hot it is in chicago now, because i never believed them when they said it got hot). dustin slept in the living room, where its cool, but i decided i'd b ok on the bed where its comfy. i slept pretty weird and then couldnt stand it anymore, around 7 am and got up. it was a bit like when the hurricanes were in FL last year, we lost electricity for a week and slept in the living room with the windows open. only difference is, now we have electricity but its only helpful in that we have fans that push the hot air around the room ineffectively. this is nice, though, because its only 9 am and i dont have to leave til noon for school. now i can get useful things done such as reading books, playing video games, or maybe doing a little homework.
and in a valiant attempt to eat healthy, i cooked a bunch of chicken in the crock pot overnight. this morning im using some of it to make a chicken, black bean and rice salad thing i saw in Everyday Food, which is a fantastic magazine that always inspires me, w/ the nice pictures and color schemes.. *dazzle* and there are always clever ways of doing things that make life easier and much tastier.
i put some very nice pink bits in my hair yesterday. its really nice sort of hotpink/fuscia (sp?) color. its really supposed to be reddish, but beyond the zone is one of the smarmiest (to use carl's word) haircolors in existance. also, thres this club im going to this weekend thats supposed to be like cyber or something. im happy get pull out my glow in the dark things. and i decided im defanatly brining back Cyber. At least in the U.S., cyber was this short lived underground fad that came and went quickly in the 90's, i think the country needs to get their fill of it. and i could see that as the next step in fashion, because everything is bohemian and naturalistic right now, the next step is surely to go the opposite direction. after all, fashion supposedly is built around technology, these days. also, i can see that as happening next because alot of the new movies coming out are Sci Fi/Fantasy, albeit older stories now made into movies (star wars, LOTR, the lion witch and wardrobe, etc) but its giving american audiances a taste for that sort of thing. no more hippy movies, bring on the cyborgs!!
got some books on speedreading yesterday at der-big-big-library-downtown. only, im sure that monkeys were certainly employed to do the organization. its obvious that some higher life form with much more enlightenment than the common person has put their idealistic order to things, afer all, sci fi books should have at least 3 different sections, on 3 different floors. and psycology books should not be limited to the psycologic section but should also be listed next to Fishing. for a library that is the 2nd or 3rd largest in the country, i suppose a special sort of organization should be used, to set them apart as superior.
blah. going to go shower i suppose, this hot weather makes me feel unduly greasy.
body worlds is pretty interesting. i wasnt sure if i was going to be sick or not. my mind sort of filtered the whole thing out, deciding that they werent really real. except when you get too close to them, they smell a bit.. fleshy? gamey? that sorta turned my stomach. i understand why there was such controversy about it, tho, because its extremely morbid. its not just that its bits of cut up dead people, its that they have em in crazy positions. there was one of a guy who was jumping in the air, and the whole section of his spine and brain looked like it popped open and was peeled down his spine like a bannana peel (or a plantain peel if youd like) "oops! gotta get that latch fixed".. and there was this guy on this huge horse (the horse was also dead and skinned) who was riding it like mad and holiding his brain in one hand and his heart in the other. So. It Rocked, but dont smell em.
i think its way cool that dustins parents come over and clean our house all nice. i actually feel like i can try to keep it that way now, since all the junk (namely: the hall closet full of dirty clothes and the various table surfaces covered with cd's and papers) is cleaned up now. its nice when things r clean, i feel like i can get some work done now.
i think im going to bite the bullet and pay the library their money i owe em so i can go rent more books. gotta get a book on speed reading because i decided i want to be able to read a book every day. my math teacher can do it, so i will too.
going to put red bits in my hair now. im tired of being blondish, since the bleach didnt completely bleach my hair, ive got this creamsicle sort of color, which is kewl but now its looking boring so..
yesterday we had our first "offical" Der Chess Club meeting at Der Fountain. it rocked like a mo fo. more ppl are joining every day and soon we shall rule the world and so on and so forth. only Justin has yet beat me at chess. which is kind of sad really cuz i suck at chess but fortunately *AHEM* i know someone who sucks slightly more than i do which is very refreshign. sorry. anywayz. dustins parents came to visit. went and saw blueman group. that rocked so so much. and i touched one of the blue man guys heads and got blue paint on my hand. i vowed i would nver wash that hand again, but then i had to eat dinner so.. i painted this wooden artists' drawing aid thinger (one of those things u can bend in different positions to help u draw ppl) 's head all blue and wiped some of the paint on it.. hmm. memoribilia. who needs tshirts. ayway that rocked. and tomorw is dustins birthday and we made coconut cake.. and tomorrow were going to se Body Worlds and did i mentioned that i hate dustins kebyoard buz i do its stix. kay well nighty night im tired now.
slowly but surely updating my site, once again. starting to look allright now. Root World. Just the intro and front page right now, the links will come soon.. got some homework to finish but am working on this at.. er .. the same time. cant help myself. Ive decided i want to live in Greenland.
